Winds of Change Canoe Tour
Discover and experience the Berlin past from a totally new perspective: from the water with the Winds of Change Canoe Tour! Paddling along the Spree, find out interesting stories from the DDR and take a short recuperation break with some shore leave on a former DDR-broadcast area, replete with plenty of original ambiance that you cannot live anywhere else.
The tour sets out from Insel Berlin (formerly the Insel der Jugend) towards the Spree. Situated a few kilometers from the Berlin centre, there are old factories, new residential complexes, as well as abandoned parks and interesting sites to discover. This tour also goes via Stralauer Halbinsel and Rummelsburger Bucht (Rummelsburg Bay).
At various stops in the tour, many highlights and unique things about the area are explained by your guide. Some shore leave means it’s then time for a short coffee-and-cake break on a former DDR-broadcast area that is replete with plenty of original ambiance, and then it’s time to head back to Insel Berlin.
The culinary conclusion to the tour includes a delicious BBQ on the island.
The Winds of Change Canoe Tour is suitable for groups from 6 to 40 persons and lasts a minimum of 3.5 hours (or as long as desired).
