14.2.2009 - Review 2008 and Outlook 2009
The New Year has started and the days are getting longer and this is a good time for us to give you a very warm thank you for your participation, co-operation or simply for your interest in Berlin Rallye. We gladly are making contact with you again to take a look back at the very successful year of 2008.

We remember with great joy the many different Rallyes, where everything and anything was possible. Sometimes there were groups of ten, and sometimes hundreds of participants. There was a wide rage of people engaging in the Rallyes i.e., babies of two weeks old in pushchairs and active Grandparents with their grandchildren, people from Berlin and Brandenburg, as well as visitors from other parts of Germany, other European countries and international groups - all were welcome. The group that travelled the furthest was a group from Australia. All groups were motivated and were full of enthusiasm for the Rallyes, all were enthused at the riddles and tasks set and solved the riddles whilst completing the events.

Each Rallye is always something special with a highlight of its own. Whatever the size of the group, whatever the age, and whatever the context or language – it is always fascinating to experience the enthusiasm and childlike curiosity of those taking part. All participants in the Rallyes grew together by the time the teams arrived at their destinations, despite coming from different origins. Although the participants hardly knew each other at the beginning, in addition to coming from different cultural backgrounds – the spark jumped between them usually just after starting the event. It is precisely this team spirit and the momentum the participants create which is the solidifying factor – the joy is written in all their faces and everyone has a good time.

For 2009, we invite you to join us in Berlin and Potsdam to the Rallyes which will give an insight into a side of Berlin that you have never seen before – we lift the veil and the mystery of sightseeing and have a lot of fun at the same time and would be most happy to organise your next event.

7.5.2008 - The Potsdam Rallye into Prussian Histories and Current Happenings
Potsdam is a city of opposites, in which Prussian Palaces and GDR “Plattenbauten”, Russian settlements and a Dutch Quarter, kings and celebrities, all collide with one another. Moreover Potsdam was and is a city with a unique cultural and intellectual life. Frederick the Great, Voltaire, Peter Joseph von Lenné, and Alexander von Humboldt are all closely associated with it. The Prussian mythos continues to this very day to stamp the image of Potsdam throughout the world and it is not for nothing that many of the parklands and palaces are listed as UNESCO world heritage sites. These special sites capture all the power of attraction of the spirit of previous eras!

The city image is just as much shaped by recent history. The Second World War and the decades spent under GDR governance have left their traces. After WWII the city was largely destroyed, but in the following decades was rebuilt though many places visually are an acquired taste. But this is also a part of Potsdam and at any rate makes one yearn to want to know more about it… Current things to marvel at include the reconstruction project for the Potsdam City Palace. Construction is already in full swing, so come and see it now!

Berlin Rallye is a playful way to discover multi-faceted Potsdam. Along your way you will learn about some of its more interesting and intriguing stories! » For more information please click here.

We look forward to seeing you!

8.2.2008 - Berlin Rallye in the Golden Twenties
The Twenties in Germany was a decade full of contradictions – political power struggles, hyperinflation, world-economic crisis, street fights, innovations and modern developments – the metropolis of Berlin was the centre in which all these elements came to collide. Berlin was, moreover, the scene of a unique cultural and intellectual life. Many of the time’s most famous artists and thinkers got around in this pulsating, creative metropolis. The myth of the twenties is still engrained in the world’s image of Berlin. In some places the Geist of the Weimar Republic is still palpable... and it continues to exercise a magical allure.

Artists such as Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill among others were associated with the Berlin theatre scene. But the glamour and glitter of lighter entertainment such as
Caberets and Musicals also characterized the myth of Berlin.

The adolescent medium of film, encapsulated by the UFA film company, gave birth to illustrious divas such as the mysterious Marlene Dietrich.

On a Berlin Rallye you too can let yourself go and follow the get on the trail of Marlene Dietrich and the Golden Twenties! You will playfully find out about many interesting and intriguing facts and episodes. » Click on the link for further information
